And here's an early one of Mike (taken by Jon Smith?) sat on his recently restored Triumph Tiger Cub. I can just see him know, hurtling down country lanes with his RAF greatcoat flapping away, roll-up in mouth no doubt. Mike was the first of us to get a proper motorbike. It was an inspiration to me and I got myself a BSA C15 250cc a year or so later. Jon had a Ducati but I don't think it ever got on the main road. Phil had a Kawasaki I think. Phil and I are still riding bikes but we have yet to meet up and go for a blast...it will happen this year I hope.

As I recall my introduction to King Crimson and Mike’s Triumph Tiger Cub occurred about the same time. I had recently bought my first motorbike (Kawasaki) and went down to see Mike at Rosemellin so we could go out for a ride together. Part of the afternoon was spent listening to King Crimson (Red?) at Mike’s (which at the time didn’t do much for me). From ‘73-‘78 I was a confirmed Bowie fan - 'which song lyric' competitions etc with Steve & Paul (Eustice) in art lessons. Anthony H eventually turned me onto Crimson through 'Starless', but that’s another tale.
‘The Serrated Edge’.
Oh, the Bowie Lyric interrogations! I remember asking Foxwell (first name?) to write out the whole of the Diamond Dogs prologue once in a chemistry lesson. He got a couple of words wrong so we chastised him...how mean!
